Under the directions of the Director, plans, directs, coordinates and markets the New Directions for Over 55 program and its services.
Minimum Education Bachelor’s Degree, preferable a degree in public relations, communications area.
Minimum Work Experience Minimum of two years experience in public relations or marketing.
Required Skills Ability to interact well with mature adults and the general public; good public relations skills are essential; public speaking skills are desirable. Must be proficient at multi-tasking and thrive in a high paced work setting: escort group travel; coordinate events/activities for senior adults; assist in producing a quarterly newsletter, marketing materials and presentations. Be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
Target market, community contacts, entire hospital staff, St. Catherine’s Village residents, management and other St. Dominic’s subsidiaries.
- Creates positive communications with the target Market and with the community.
- Ensures the effective marketing of the New Directions program.
- Assists Director in developing and executing activities to ensure the growth and expansion of the program.
- Develops the marketing plan for the seniors program, assisted by the Director.
- Understands and adheres to all office and personnel policies.
- Visits hospitalized members, daily.
Prolonged periods of standing, walking, or sitting while on duty. Lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 10-15 pounds with or without assistance. Visual and auditory acuity and manual dexterity essential to performing designated duties required. Ability to perform effectively in a stressful and fast paced environment. Ability to pass all required health and other screening tests. Physical conditions are clean, neat and well lit. Maybe subjected to unpleasant sights and odors, stressful situations hazardous or infectious agents were judgment as to precautions need to be taken is essential. Climate control and ambiet temperature variances may be experienced. Exposure to limited amounts of hazardous substances and infectious disease processes are a possibility. Hours of duty may be irregular or unexpectedly extended due to emergency circumstances. Direct contact with blood or other body fluids to which universal precautions apply. Personal protective equipment made available and must be worn.
