RN Diabetes Educator - PRN
The diabetes program educator is accountable and responsible for managing, guiding, developing and implementing safe clinical practice and high quality patient care for the diabetic patient. Accountable for the management of human and material resources, the development of personnel, and adherence to regulatory and professional standards. Leads in promoting the Christian mission of healing and nurturing on the unit level, in the organization and in the community.
Minimum Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Dietetics preferred. Certification as Diabetes Educator (CDE) preferred but not required.
Minimum Work Experience: Experience of greater than 5 years in diabetes education
Required Licenses: Active State license in nursing or active state licensure in dietetics and active registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Current BLS
Must be willing to adhere to current clinical practice guidelines as stated in the ADA Standards of Medical Care in Diabetes.
Must be adaptable and flexible in the individualized teaching approach required to provide care for diabetic patients and their family members.
Basic computer skills with the ability to write and develop multimedia presentations. General office skills with the ability to compile statistics, establish and maintain filing systems and use appropriate telephone skills.
