Radiation Therapist Cancer Center (PRN)
Provides radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by physicians according to established standards and practices and supervises clinic activities. Reports to the Lead Radiation Therapist.
Registered as a Radiation Therapist by the ARRT is required. Graduate of an AMA approved program in Radiological Technology. Graduate of an accredited program in Radiation Therapy prefer B.S. Degree in Radiological Sciences.
Assists with the maintenance of records for JCAHO, NRC, and state regulatory agencies. No experience required. Prefer a minimum of 12 months previous experience as Radiation Therapist under the direct supervision of a Radiation Oncologist. Verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to walk, bend, and push wheelchairs and stretchers. Must be able to lift heavy objects and equipment in excess of 50 pounds. Manual dexterity is necessary for reaching, inserting heavy blocking trays ( up to 50 lbs.), marking on patients, documenting in charts, and operating the radiotherapy equipment. Ability to perceive pertinent details in chart and instructions relating to specific prescription. Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of times.
