Nurse Practitioner - Palliative Care
Serves to implement clinical initiatives to maintain/improve quality and contain/reduce costs in conjunction with the Network Administrator. Primary responsibilities involve implementation of day-to-day clinical interventions for patients of the clinic to include: completion of histories, physical exams, evaluation, dictation, and discharge. Works collaboratively with a physician, nursing staff, and other palliative care team members, in an active practice to deliver palliative care and related health care services to patients and families. Utilizes in-depth knowledge of palliative care to drive improvement through various roles and alliances.
Licensed Nurse Practitioner in good standing with the MS Board of Licensure with a medical license from the state of Mississippi. with at least three years experience; clinical nursing care in areas of oncology, hospice, geriatrics, intensive care, and/or palliative care preferred. Board certified ACHPN® or eligible preferred. Sound technical, critical thinking and teamwork skills required. Must be skilled in physical and mental health assessment, diagnosis, treatment, pharmacology and advanced clinical nursing practice. Must have authority to prescribe controlled substances or eligible to apply; Must demonstrate ability to recognize patients’ individual needs based on medical conditions, age limitations and planned procedures. Must have demonstrated excellence in communicating with other physicians and staff, flexible management of multiple goals, and ability to prioritize work based on environmental changes.
