Minimum five years’ experience in patient access, registration, billing, cash collections, insurance and/or pre-certification, or related experience in a revenue cycle medical environment. Minimum three years supervisory experience in a heath care environment required.

Manage and implement all related regulatory/ governing standards, policies, and procedures; application of safety and infection control policies and procedures; ability to develop job descriptions, learning plans, give and receive feedback, and coach and counsel staff; staffing, scheduling, and payroll processes; customer feedback and impact on core processes; delegation, team building, decision making, conflict management, change management skills; verbal and written communication skills that are sensitive to diversities among age groups, cultures, and educational levels. Oversees patient access operations and coordinates initiatives across facilities to ensure standardization and sharing of best practices. Provides guidance for patient access and revenue cycle staff and management to resolve issues. Coordinates and promotes implementation and monitoring of standard master files, processes, reporting, and educational programs. Maintains current knowledge of regulatory requirements and company compliance policies, ensuring timely staff education. Informs leadership and staff regarding payer requirements, significant changes and developments in regulatory requirements. Manages the day to day operations of the patient access/scheduling, registration, and admissions department. Ability to drive/ travel to multiple locations/ facilities as needed.

Functional Demands

Prolonged periods of standing, walking, or sitting while on duty. Lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 10-15 pounds with or without assistance. Visual and auditory acuity and manual dexterity essential to performing designated duties required. Ability to perform effectively in a stressful and fast paced environment. Ability to pass all required health and other screening tests. Physical conditions are clean, neat and well lit. Maybe subjected to unpleasant sights and odors, stressful situations and hazardous or infectious agents where judgment as to precautions need to be taken is essential. Climate control an ambient temperature variances may be experienced. Exposure to limited amounts of hazardous chemicals or substances and infectious disease processes are a possibility. Hours of duty may be irregular or unexpectedly extended due to emergency circumstances. Direct contact with blood or other body fluids to which universal precautions apply. Personal protective equipment is made available and must be worn.
