STDOM SDH Laundry Tech Linen Handler
Finishes clean linens and laundry by following established procedures. Reports to Supervisor.

Removes linens from washers & dryers and sorts them in clean linen area in preparation for use..
Folds, sorts, and stacks both large and small articles. Examines articles for stains, tears or other imperfections.
Counts and stacks linens for distribution or places them in supply storage. Reports linen supply shortages to
Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings.
Attends meetings as required.
Keeps linen room neat and orderly; cleans delivery equipment and assists with other cleaning duties in laundry/linen
Assist and performs Environmental Services functions as needed.
Assist and perform Utility Tech functions as needed.
Prolonged periods of standing, walking, or sitting while on duty.
Lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.
Transferring, repositioning patients.
Reaching, stooping, bending, kneeing, and crouching for patient care functions.
Visual and auditory acuity and manual dexterity essential to performing designated duties required.

Physical conditions are clean, neat and well lit. Maybe subjected to unpleasant sights and odors, stressful situations
and hazardous or infectious agents where judgment as to precautions need to be taken is essential. Climate control
and ambient temperature variances may be experienced. Exposure to limited amounts of hazardous chemicals or
substances and infectious disease processes are a possibility. Hours of duty maybe irregular or unexpectedly
extended due to emergency circumstances.

made available and must be worn. Extreme heat with temperature hot enough to cause marked bodily discomfort and
humidity high enough to cause bodily reactions.
