Supervises the performance of work in one or more divisions, sections, areas or shifts of the clinical laboratories.
Bachelor's Degree in a science related field. Graduate of accredited school of medical technology. Medical technologist for five years, preferably in a general hospital laboratory setting. Supervisory experience required. Operation and maintenance of standard laboratory equipment. High degree of accuracy in work. Management and organizational skills. Medical Technology level III criteria met. Works without supervision. Must demonstrate ability to recognize patients' individual needs based on medical conditions, age (infants, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle aged, and geriatric) limitations and planned procedures. Certified as a medical technologist by American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP).
