Collects and processes blood from individuals of all ages, checks quality of specimen, and assumes responsibility for the safety of the patient and the integrity of the collection.
High school diploma or equivalent. Chemistry and biology courses included. Minimum one year phlebotomy experience required, preferably in a hospital or health care setting. In lieu of one year experience, successful completion of an approved phlebotomy training program may be accepted. Certification as a phelbotomist or laboratory assistant by a national certifying agency is preferred. Previous experience with Laboratory Information System is preferred.
