SDH Inventory Supply Tech
The Inventory Supply Tech is responsible for stocking and picking supplies in General Stores, delivering supplies throughout the hospital and on-site clinics, Behavioral Health and Cancer Center locations, and stocking supplies in Point-of-Use (POU) locations.
High School diploma or equivalent required; Associates Degree in Computer, Math, Business, or Supply Chain related field preferred.
Proficiency in Math as evidenced by Competency Test given during interview process; proficiency with using computers (preferably hand held devices); verbal and written communication skills, and customer service skills; familiarity with healthcare and medical supply terminology desirable
Must have a minimum of 3 – 5 years Supply Chain experience working in a warehouse or distribution center with a minimum of 1 year experience in order picking; experience will be waived in lieu of Associates Degree or higher in one of the fields listed above. Healthcare Supply Chain experience is preferred.

Complies with organizational and regulatory policies for handling confidential patient information.
Demonstrates excellent customer service through his/her attitude and actions, consistent with the standards contained in the Vision, Mission, and Values of the organization.
Adheres to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures, Federal, State, and local requirements, and TJC standards and/or standards from other accrediting bodies.
Picks and/or delivers supplies, both stock and non-stock, in a timely fashion.
Assists with putting up stock in General Stores after receipts occur.
Maintains par levels in departmental supply areas as assigned based on trends in demand.
Performs cycle counts and reconciles par levels.
Rotates supplies to ensure FIFO disposition and limit stock obsolescence and expiration on dated supplies both in General Stores and assigned par locations.
Recommends changes in min/max levels as changes in utilization of product occurs in assigned locations.
Communicates unusual discrepancies found during cycle counts to the Inventory Control Manager and works closely with staff to avoid stock-outs and ensure supply availability to patient care staff.
Maintains cleanliness of work area as required.
Understands role in hospital’s fire, safety, and disaster plan.
Contributes positively to the hospital’s mission, philosophy, and objectives.

Prolonged periods of standing, walking, or sitting.
Lifting up to 50 pounds with or without assistance; pushing or pulling up to 100 pounds with or without assistance.
Reaching, stooping, bending, kneeing, and/or crouching to perform job functions.
Visual and auditory acuity and manual dexterity essential to performing duties.
Ability to operate both manual and powered material handling equipment.
Ability to perform effectively at a production pace in a stressful and fast-paced environment.
May be subjected to unpleasant sights and odors, stressful situations, and hazardous or infectious agents where judgement is essential as to precautions that need to be taken.
Climate control and ambient temperature variances may be experienced.
Exposure to limited amounts of hazardous chemicals or substances and infectious disease processes are a possibility.
Hours of duty may be irregular or unexpectedly changed or extended to meet the needs of the organization or in emergency situations.
Direct contact with blood or other body fluids to which universal precautions apply may occur. Personal protective equipment will be made available and must be worn.
