Emergency Department RN Program Coordinator
The ED Clinical Coordinator will work under the general direction of the ED Director/Nurse Manager to coordinate direct and indirect nursing care given to the patients within the department to ensure optimal patient care and maximized throughput within the Emergency Department.
Minimum Education Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.
Required Licenses [Mississippi, United States] Registered Nurses
Current RN licensure in good standing in the state of Mississippi. Current CPR and ACLS certification required.
Required Skills Requires 3-5 years Emergency Department RN experience with progressive leadership experience within the department. Requires good oral and written communication skills.
Uses current patient satisfaction data to identify and create plan of action to response to trends in responses.
Works with ED educator/manager to implement actions based on process improvement data or trends.
Assists manager in the continual assessment and improvement of the department’s performance or staff needs.
Serves as a resource for staff to clarify, facilitate, and implement new and current policy and procedures.
Consistently keeps manager and director informed of current and potential problems within the department.
Will assist manager with payroll and scheduling as needed.
Will aide in the completion of required reports and auditing/quality improvement activities.
Serves as a professional role model.
Acts as a role model for staff regarding professional development. Demonstrates flexibility in scheduling when arise. Organizes or contributes to department in-services and other education.
Works with educational department to push out new initiatives and new practices.
In the absence of Emergency Department leadership, will be able to make clinical decisions and collaborate with leadership regarding those decisions.
Demonstrates commitment and flexibility through times of change.
Coordinates activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities and directing the work of Emergency Department staff. Participates actively in the planning and distribution of patient assignments.
