Previous food service experience preferred and must have excellent customer services skills. Performs a variety of routine duties related to the serving of food; responsible for all customer monetary transactions.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous experience in cleaning and food service sanitation procedures preferred.
Follows proper pot and pan three sectional sink format, to clean, rinse and sanitize pots and pans, conserve chemical and energy use. Stores pots, pans and wares neatly in the appropriate areas. Maintains cleanliness and order in pot and pan room. Maintains cleanliness and order in chemical room. Assists in stocking and organizing of paper goods in pot and pan and chemical rooms. Continually picking up, sweeping and/or mopping of floors within main department areas. Assists in breaking down and removal of boxes using existing procedures. Assists in removal of trash and upkeep of trash cans using existing procedures. Periodic cleaning of walls and equipment during down times. Clean and/or filter deep fryers on Tuesday and Thursday nights, or as needed. Understands HACCP guidelines and MSDS information. Understands role in hospital fire, safety and disaster programs. Participates in educational programs and inservice meetings and accurately completes all documentative requirements; cleaning schedule, etc.
Prolonged periods of standing, walking, or sitting while on duty.Lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.Visual and auditory acuity and manual dexterity essential to performing designated duties required.Ability to perform effectively in a stressful and fast paced environment.Ability to pass all required health and other screening tests.Physical conditions are clean, neat and well lit. Maybe subjected to unpleasant sights and odors, stressful situations and hazardous or infectious agents where judgment as to precautions need to be taken is essential. Climate control and ambient temperature variances may be experienced. Exposure to limited amounts of hazardous chemicals or substances and infectious disease processes are a possibility. Hours of duty may be irregular or unexpectedly extended due to emergency circumstances.Direct contact with blood or other body fluids to which universal precautions apply. Personal protective equipment is made available and must be worn.
