Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing with a minimum of two years experience in clinical nursing.
Good verbal communication skills and ability to relate well with the public. Proficient in use of equipment and supplies used in the course of various screenings. Proficient in formulating graphs, spreadsheets, data entry, and maintaining statistical data for reports. Ability to interpret and communicate screening results to participants. Ability to supervise staff and volunteers in absence of the Care-A-Van Director. An understanding and appreciation of the mission of St. Dominic Health Services, Inc. Certification as BLS Healthcare Provider in CPR
Responsible to the Director of Care-A-Van Services. Employees supervised: Staff and volunteers in the absence of the Director. Works with other staff, volunteers, participants of various health screenings and wellness programs, employees of senior centers and public service organizations and physicians. Assists the Director in the planning and implementation of programs as needed. Assumes supervisory role in the event of the Director's absence.
Ensures proper recording and distribution of screening results Performs routine health screenings and assists with wellness programs as needed. Schedules monthly events and notifies respective coordinator for each event/site to confirm date and program in a timely manner. Maintains confidentiality of screening results for all participants. Assists in the maintenance and cleaning of the Care-A-Van. Assists in evaluating and maintaining proper inventory. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs and current literature. Exhibits understanding of St. Dominic Health Services' personnel policies and procedures. Supports the Christian mission and philosophy of St. Dominic Health Services, Inc. and Care-A-Van. Working Conditions Works in the Care-A-Van, community centers or other locations where Care-A-Van is providing a health screening or wellness program; hazards are minimal if department and hospital safety regulations are followed; self provided uniform is required. Working hours will vary with Care-A-Van programs, generally 80 hours per pay period.
Prolonged periods of standing, walking, or sitting while on duty.Lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 10-15 pounds with or without assistance. Visual and auditory acuity and manual dexterity essential to performing designated duties required. Ability to perform effectively in a stressful and fast paced environment. Ability to pass all required health and other screening tests. Physical conditions are clean, neat and well lit. May encounter odors, stressful situations and hazardous or infectious agents in which a keen sense of decision making skills are essential. Climate control an ambient temperature variances may be experienced. Exposure to limited amounts of hazardous chemicals or substances and infectious disease processes are a possibility. Hours of duty may be irregular or unexpectedly extended due to emergency circumstances.Direct contact with blood or other body fluids to which universal precautions apply. Personal protective equipment is made available and must be worn.
