St. Dominic Hospital is located in the capital, Jackson, Mississippi which boasts various museums and parks as well as a coliseum that hosts events year round. St. Dominic’s has more than 3,300 employees and is a 535-bed acute care hospital specializing in cancer treatment, women’s services, surgery, behavioral health programs and more.

Key Responsibilities

The Director of Human Resources is a key member of the HR leadership team and is administratively responsible for providing leadership and direction for the Human Resources for the hospital and clinics. The Director of HR reports directly to the Vice President, Human Resources. The Director of HR is accountable for the achievement of objectives consistent with the St. Dominic’s mission, values, and operational and strategic plans. Also, the Director of HR will be responsible for the overall planning, development and oversight of the functions and services delivered by the HR department (11 FTE), including talent acquisition, compensation, employee relations, HRIS, and compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.

The position works closely with the Vice President, Human Resources in the development and implementation of policies, plans and programs, which assure optimal support and services from the Human Resources and provides a work environment that conveys dignity, respect and integrity.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate is expected to possess an undergraduate degree in human resources or business administration, a graduate degree is strongly preferred, with seven years of experience in Human Resources, with a least three years management experience. This individual will be a key collaborator with the hospital leadership team, be comfortable in a change management environment and process improvement.
