This professional practices evaluation, treatment and preventitive education to performing arts students in a nonclinical setting, and aids in the care of patients in a clinical setting.
Candidates must have a BS degree from an accredited Athletic Trainer Program, NATA certification and current MS state licensure. One-two years previous experience preferred.
The ATC has decision-making skills to make treatment assessments based on quick injury evaluation, the ability to analyze injuries and convert data into meaningful medical chart reports, and effective interpersonal skills to communicate both in person and in writing with students, faculty, doctors, professional staff, patients, and general public. Must be able to assist with or transfer patients of various weights/heights. Must be able to push carts containing medical equipment, stand for long periods of time, have good mobility skills and be able to walk long distances.
